Natural Church Development, is offering three seminars with Christian Schwarz in Toronto, Moncton, and Edmonton in May 2012. These seminars will offer an opportunity for you to hear directly from the founder of NCD as he discusses his findings around community building and leadership. At present EGDE provides two kinds of events:
Vision Days
This type of event is designed to engage local ministries at the level of a presbytery or a group of congregations as small as 10 ministries. Each ministry is encouraged to send a group of leaders from the congregation. Participants are exposed to energizing plenary speakers who can passionately open up the missional opportunities of this moment. Hopeful stories of exciting emerging ministry practice and fresh expressions of church are explored in workshops. The leadership of each event is chosen to reflect the ministry context of the participating congregations. The Vision Day event is designed to inspire, encourage, and begin to draw out congregational leadership which may be sensing a deeper call to renewal or new ministry development. A facilitated cohort process would be a helpful follow-up for congregational leaders participating in a Vision Day.
Every two years there is a national gathering of emerging practice supplemented with plenary addresses which provide insight to engage the Canadian context. Together with inspirational worship, music and over 550 participants from across the country this event is a unique transformational opportunity.
